Frequently Asked Questions

How long will treatment last?

Treatment length is variable for each individual and family. It also depends on what we are working on with you. Some clients come for just a few sessions, while others continue therapy for several years.

Do you take insurance?

Unfortunately, we do not take insurance at this time. However, we can always provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider, which typically goes toward your out-of-network deductible.

How much do your services cost?.

Pricing at Intown Psychology is a self-pay practice. The range is between $150–$250. For families who need financial support for our services, we offer some sliding scale sessions for a select number of clients.

How do I know if you will be a good fit for me/my child?

We offer a free, 15-minute phone consultation to explore whether our clinicians are a good fit for you or your child. You can book your consultation here.

How do I get started with therapy? What is the process like?

Set up a 15-minute phone consultation to get the process started. One of our therapists will reach out to speak with you. If both parties feel like it is a good fit, we will schedule a parent intake and child intake sessions (these are separate appointments).

At least 24 hours prior to the parent intake session, parents will be asked to complete intake paperwork on our portal, which takes about 30 minutes. This process helps us understand your reasoning for why you or your teen is seeking services and will help us have a productive, informative intake session. We gather historical information and learn about your goals for therapy. An intake session lasts about 60 minutes. Each therapy session lasts about 45-50 minutes. The frequency of sessions is up to you and your therapist.

What are the benefits of receiving services at Intown Psychology?

There are short-term and long-term benefits to therapy with us. In the short term, you’ll get a helpful, nonjudgmental, outside perspective on what you’re struggling with. Our work together can help you overcome a fear, manage any symptoms of OCD, anxiety, depression, anger, and other issues.

Over just a few sessions, you can learn new skills to better communicate with your family, friends, and schoolmates.

In the long term working with us, you’ll learn how to ask for help when you need it without shame and learn to trust others. You’ll also learn how to manage your emotions so that they don’t get the best of you—which tends to reverberate across all areas of your life. You’ll feel happier, more in control of your life, and like there’s just more space to be you.

Do you prescribe medication?

No, but we do work with and can recommend trusted psychiatrists to help facilitate the process.
