Meet Kramer

Professional PLAYMATE

Though his educational background is a little thin, Kramer is a mini golden doodle who is hypoallergenic. He tags along with Dr. Jeremy in session to help you feel more comfortable in the therapy room. Even those who have some fear of dogs have ended up loving him. He enjoys sleeping, playing with his toys, and getting pets.

We work hard to help you, and we never forget about the importance of play.

Traditional therapy techniques aren’t often playful, causing us to be more rigid and guarded. We use play to create a safe space to open up in the therapy room by incorporating activities such as board games, card games, basketball, and role plays. Our office dog, Kramer, is always eager to play too.

We know that play builds rapport and trust with our clients, as well as gives opportunities to practice the strategies we talk about.

In addition to play, we use several evidence-based techniques in session to help children, teens, and families live fuller, happier lives:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • SPACE Treatment (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions)

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Parent coaching

  • Trauma-informed frameworks

“My child didn’t want to go in for treatment at first, but after their session with Dr. Salzman, they weren’t mad, but actually in a better mood than before they went in.”
