Meet Talia
Licensed Professional Counselor
Talia Auslin, LPC
Talia has over a decade of experience helping children, teens, and adults navigate the complexity of life’s moments, supporting them through challenges, and helping them build the skills to move through the world with more clarity and confidence. Their warm, person-centered approach creates a space where showing up as your full, authentic self is not just accepted, it's the whole point.
Experience
Talia is a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified Georgia Educator in School Counseling. Their path into counseling began in school-based settings across both public and private schools, where they developed and led counseling programs, facilitated social skills groups, and supported students' social-emotional and academic needs. This led to a role as the Director of K–8 Counseling for 8 years at a private school in Atlanta. Alongside this work, Talia built 6 years of clinical experience providing individual therapy to adolescents and adults in both telehealth and in-person settings.
Education & Training
Talia holds a Master of Education in Professional Counseling from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey. They are certified in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and are a recipient of the RAMP distinction (Recognized ASCA Model Program) for excellence in school counseling. They have presented at the World Conference for Gifted and Talented Children and the People of Color Conference, developed and delivered faculty professional development, supervised counseling interns, and facilitated clinical parent education seminars on LGBTQ+ inclusion, emotional regulation, executive functioning, DBT skills, and social media safety.
The Whole Person Approach
Talia's approach is person-centered, holistic, and rooted in cultural responsiveness and deep inclusivity. As someone who identifies as non-binary, LGBTQ+, and neurodivergent, Talia brings both lived experience and clinical expertise to their work, creating a space where all parts of a person are understood and welcomed. Talia integrates CBT, DBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Counseling, and mindfulness-based interventions. At the heart of Talia's work is a focus on self-acceptance, identity, and the ways lived experience shapes the way we move through the world.
Areas of Focus
Talia tailors each session to the person in front of them, supporting clients with emotional regulation, school or work-related stress, identity development, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and coping skills. Their work often involves exploring patterns, untangling negative self-talk, processing life transitions, and helping clients build a more grounded and resilient sense of self.
Outside of Work
When Talia isn’t in session, you’ll find them on the volleyball court, out on a hike, tending to their ever-growing plant collection, or deep into a 1,000-piece puzzle. They love traveling, trying new restaurants, live music, and going to Atlanta United games with friends. At home, cooking new recipes for their partner Katie (who happily serves as taste-tester) is a regular occurrence, as is playing immersive games on their VR headset. Their dog Athena is always along for walks, with a guaranteed detour to pet every dog they pass!
You Don't Have to Figure It Out Alone
Talia believes that every person has the capacity for growth and self-acceptance, and that sometimes what matters most is having the right person in your corner. Their work is grounded in an understanding of intersectionality, honoring the ways that identity, culture, and lived experience shape the way we see ourselves and move through the world.
Talia believes the most courageous thing you can do is decide you're worth the work.
I've always been deeply curious about the inner workings of the mind and what makes each of us uniquely who we are. Learning to accept all of you is one of the most meaningful journeys there is. There's something really human about wanting to understand that, and I think it deserves to be honored. If you feel things intensely, you're figuring out who you are, or you're just ready to change the way you move through the world, I'm your person."
